#jeans4days Challenge: Day 2
For day 2 of the #jeans4days challenge, I built this Parisian inspired look around this gorgeous pair of worn, mid-rise jeans from H&M. Generally, worn or ripped jeans are a go-to choice for toughening a look, however for this challenge, I wanted to feminise and soften down the denim through accessorising and careful texture selections.
This charcoal, oversized cashmere jumper (Country Road) is the ideal Winter wardrobe staple, and it adds the perfect level of comfort to this look. By pairing oversized crew neck cut shirts or pullovers with ripped jeans, you are able to achieve an effortless, yet put together outfit that's a cinch to dress up or down. The cashmere itself is a beautiful & sturdy fabric, which dulls the roughness of the selvedge denim, and by tucking the seam & rolling the sleeves, I am able to keep my shape & emphasise the denim.
Once again I opted for an ankle strapped point, but this time just in a plain matte black (this pair is from London Rebel). The point the the perfect choice to feminise the ripped jeans, and as I decided to cuff these jeans up, I wanted extra embellishments on my ankles to balance my shape and draw the eye.If you are wanting to replicate this look, opt for a pair of jeans that are only slightly worn or ripped to avoid making the outfit too 'street'.
To further accessorise this outfit, I tied on this neck scarf which I picked up from the second hand store. I wanted to give a nod to Parisian street style, as well as add a pop of colour to the otherwise muted outfit, and by offsetting the bold red shades in the next scarf with the deeper maroon shine of the strap-bag, the look retains a minimal classiness while still being eye-catching & fun!
Once again, this is a look that could easily be taken from day to night and is super easy to replicate. Just ensure you have a mid rise on your jeans, and your pops of colour come from your accessories as opposed to your clothing items. The neck scarf is also essential for the Parisian twist, and the thrift store is the perfect place to pick up a bunch of unique pieces inexpensively.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow for day 3 of the challenge! xx
