The Wiccan Prairie
In May of this year, prior to Fashion Week, I was lucky enough to meet Naomi through a modelling workshop in Toowoomba (at which I was a mentor). Her elven charm & fairy-like beauty inspired me to put together this editorial for Volant Magazine Issue #9. Around this time I was finding myself inspired by imagery surrounding Picnic at Hanging Rock, as well as era creams & whites featured in my reading (Young Doctor's Notebook). I wanted to recreate a natural feeling of freedom in nature so I reached out to my friend Izzy at Isabelle Quinn designs. Her creations are silk & satin based and have such gorgeous movement (as well as the perfect palette!) I wanted the wind to capture the pieces and create beautiful shapes, adding interest to the shoot, as well as add fludity to the styling of the shoot - I wanted a heap of interchangeable pieces that I could layer and tie and go wild with!
I paired these key IQ garments with extra's from Fawn, Ivy Designer Collections & a few thrifted faux fur & glitter bits to create a soft blushed 'Wiccan' vibe, which became the central motif of the shoot (The Wiccan Prairie).
We were spoiled with the weather during golden hour that day, and I am utterly in love with the results of our work. Scroll down for the full set including unseen edits! Xx
