Wynn Hamlyn: NZFW 17
In what was hands down the most beautiful runway display of NZFW 17, greenhouses and floral rugs littered the catwalk for Wynn Hamlyn's offering for the year, entitled 'Seasons'.
The collection caters to the contemporary consumer who champions transeasonal dressing, and opts to blur the line between summer and winter wardrobes. The styling of the runway really enhanced this point, as you can see from the pics.
The runway was a clash of hot versus cold, of old-meets-new, with traditional floral prints was reimagined in moody tones, summer slides paired with quilted, puffer corsets (such an amazing fashion moment!) and deep denim. The collection was both feminine and subtle, again assisted by styling choices like pin-striped suiting layered over white shirts, loop-knitted dresses with deconstructed bodices, and oversized Helen Kaminski visors worn with relaxed trousers that could be seen peeking out from under dresses (Japanese vibing).
Without question the most fully realised collection of this Fashion Week, Wynn provides a breath of fresh air in a heavily street & urbanwear dominated market. From the choice of music, to the set, to the gift bags provided, no detail was overlooked.
You will want to snap up a few of these pieces for your year round wardrobe too - there is something for everyone! @wynnhamlyn on Insta
