Mitchell Vincent Collection - Contemporary Freshness at NZFW
New Zealanders are known for throwing up some epic street style & casual combinations, and I would happily bet that MVC has a hand in simplifying 'cool dressing' for the cool kids of Auckland.
First presenting in 2013, Mitchell has been a Fashion Week staple ever since, and this year was a particularly strong solo performance from the designer. MVC didn't fail to impress the audience in the tent with their signature, contemporary take on relaxed streetwear
Monochrome was the colour (or lack there of?) pallette of choice, lifted only by pops of yellow, beige & royal blue, creating a clean cut and edgy mood on the runway.
The collection itself is transeasonal and interseasonal, with easy silhouette patterns, box shirt cuts, long trousers & classic black jeans forming the foundation. The arguable plainess of the collection was demolished with the addition of palm frond screen prints - totally unique & a really cute feminine touch to the line.
MVC has a knack for turning out intensely wearable pieces that are not only high quality, but also extremely covetable too - and that is no easy feat. It truly takes a strong styling eye to curate a collection such as this, so a huge congratulations to Mitchell & the team.
