Steven Khalil Resort 18
Focus on fitted 50's cuts and classic, feminine silhouettes have by now become synonymous with Khalil's couture - and the 2018 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia presentation lived up to the hype.
Floral appliques, sequins, intricate details & extensive use of lace and tulle were all poignant, cross-garment choices, with a vibrant (very on-trend) colour palette on display. Constellations of glittery goodness from shiny Swarovski crystals bathed the models bodies as they sashayed past in princess-like form - seriously the stuff fashion dreams are made of.
The runway itself was littered with flowers, creating a dreamy atmosphere for attendees, and the models walked with a slow power, winding around the runway and truly setting the mood. Edgy femininity oozed from Khalil's collection, redefining him as the master of women's design couture wear. My two outstanding pieces were a Victorian-style blue & gold maxi dress with ruffle detailing, and a blue & black lace & velvetine paneled floor length gown (both pictured within the post).
The collection gave regal vibes - and I was courtseying down hard! Thank you for the opportunity to report on your show and this fully realised collection, Steven - you are a visionary.
Looking forward to tomorrow's shows!
