Bali Bible: Day Three
Depending on what you are travelling for, it is important to reserve time to relax and take in the surroundings you are privileged enough to be temporarily living in. With this in mind, day 3 of my Balinese trip saw me spending a fair portion of the day reading, swimming and snoozing poolside at the beautiful Widyas Luxury Bali Villas.Having had such a busy year, this holiday was the perfect excuse to do absolutely nothing and really refresh my mind. If you are travelling for relaxation like I was, then I would absolutely recommend sorting through reviews of luxury villas online. There is so much choice and variety in the types of villas you can stay in (spa's, romantic resorts, relaxation resorts) and the villa-stay is a far more unique and pampered experience than that of a hotel-stay. Some tips to keep in mind when booking a villa stay: Is breakfast included in the price of the stay? This is very common, and generally expected of villas. Are there transfers to & from the airport? Soooo helpful, especially on arrival. Will I be able to communicate effectively enough with the staff? Can be an issue in remote villas. Is the costing in USD, AUD, Rupiah? Transfer rates may be different - be sure of the final cost in your own currency. In the afternoon, I adventured around Canggu area and checked out some amazing temples. If you are into Hindu-style architecture then I recommend a visit to Canggu (probably my favourite area of Bali). If you are a daredevil, you can rent a scooter to drive yourself around, but keep in mind many travel insurance companies will not cover accidents on these vehicles, emergency services are lacking in Bali & traffic is cray-zay. This evening I met up with my friend Jacque and we went to an outdoor Barbeque in Canggu. We drove past amazing rice paddies, had drinks & laughs and were served the best BBQ veggie skewers I have ever eaten! They were so huge they had to be served on metal skewers heaven. There are always vegetarian options in locations frequented by tourists, but in rural areas it is a little difficult to find vegetarian foods; keep this in mind if you are steering clear of meat.
I hope you guys are enjoying my Bali adventure xx
