VAMFF16 Premium Runway 3
Presented by InStyle and supported by Schwarzkopf at Priceline Pharmacy, Premium Runway 3 of VAMFF provided a gorgeous line up of designers and a visual feast for the eyes of spectators. Akira, Aurelio Costarella, By Johnny, Camilla, Rachel Gilbert & Megan Parkall took to the runway to tap the evening wear trends for the upcoming season - and here are four fashion forecasts from the StyleSpy ;)
1. Hat Tip To Headwear. No longer only suitable for a day out with the ladies at Flemington Racecourse, tiara style headwear is about to make a roaring entrance into our everyday lives. Delicate, dainty and oh-so feminine, I am an avid fan of these pixie-style items that can soften any look. Keep in mind that I am not speaking about flower crowns!! Think lace, adorned headbands and intricate beading that cradles one's face, as opposed to large, plastic and ultra-tacky orange flowers on your noggin. 2. Bold Is Boss. I am excited to report to all the colour lovers out there that your 2016 Autumn/Winter is looking very bright. Striping and paneling in vibrant colours took centre stage during By Johnny's feature, injecting some excitement back in to layering & winter wear. Camilla always brings the colour, and this runway was no exception with rhinestones and glitter making the models shimmer. I can't wait to make some bolder palette choices this season - very inspired! 3. More & More Midi-Length. Demure reigns supreme with the transition of the ideal length of skirts and dresses to midi. Let's be honest, midi-length clothing is extremely flattering on all body types, is easy to style for both day & night, and just generally looks all-round fantastic. Even trousers, leggings & culottes are being cut to a midi-length, adding a modest chicness to all looks - so happy right now & can't wait to stock up! 4. Feminine Silhouettes. Evening wear is always pretty strong on the feminine-silhouette front, but this season the heavy use of lace & velvet has given full length dresses a structured and figure-defining contour. Mini-trains, uneven hemlines and bell-sleeves all featured on maxi's, with cinched in waistlines to define the body, truly gorgeous and enough to make anyone feel like a Princess.
I hope you are all enjoying these 'through my eyes' videos of my VAMFF experience! I had such a great time meeting so many other lovely creatives & can't wait for the next event xx
