MBFW Istanbul Picks
Ahhh, the beauty of the designs at Istanbul Mercedes Benz Fashion Week event this year had me like....
There were so many different, dyanamic presentations & runway shows that it was so hard to choose my favourites from all the designers. Keeping in line with my tastes, I have chosen some of the most beautiful & interesting modest pieces & have edited a showcase below. Here are my picks! Asli Jackson My four picks from the FW15/16 collection are made up of deep navy & muted cream and white tones. I love the 2 shawls pictured - cosy but stylish! Marking hooded shawls as a massive upcoming trend for the winter season. Particularly love the neck detailing on the second style, and think the use of hem layering and pop colour shoes in outfit 3 is sensational.
Zenyep Edrogan You had me seeing red Zenyep! Lace, feminine details & the colour of love struck a chord with me from this collection. The oversized blazer in image 1 is completely on point as is the detailing of the jacket in image 2. I adore the femininity created by the use of red lace of the third outfit pictured, a softness which is also demonstrated in the second style.
Tuba Ergin I included a fair few pieces from Tuba Ergin's MBFW presentation because I feel it was truly such an inspired collection. I find the designs so wearable (particularly the jacket in the second image, top picture - ooooohhhweee!!) and not only are the beautifully refined, they are also environmentally sensitive. 10/10. Note: the hooded shawl again. Called it!
Ozlem Kaya Ozlem Kaya has managed to produce an extremely chic showcase focusing on the use of blacks, layering, texture & intruiging fabrics. First trench is completely & utterly amazing. Also note the use of popping reds as also seen in Zenyep's collection - perhaps an up coming trend alert! Adore the layering on the final style as well as the long gloves pictured.
Cigdem Akin The colour palette! Oh my gosh, the colour palette! I love the use of muted beige, orange & topaz tones in this collection. The fabrics & shaping utilised in the range are equal parts edgy & feminine - gorgeous!
Murat Aytulum This is note so much a wearable range for me as a visually appealing work of art. Murat has managed to capture a truly futuristic feeling with the use of bubble hoods, soft leather & muted tones. Adore the bold orange skirt and detailing on the zipper hat. Inspired!
Mehtap Elaidi It's a crazy-good sleeve party and everyone is invited! Mehtap is such a pioneer of fashion which is evident as always in her latest collection. The stunning array of detailing, bold colours & high collars brings this collection to life - how gorgeous is the navy dress & white fitted blouse combo? Such a fantastic collection that will truly set the trend for the upcoming season.
