MBFWA: We Are Kindred Resort 2019
The epitome of the Kindred Woman is floral, floaty, whimsical, happy & refined. Think Little House on the Prairie meets cocktail party realness, meets Zimmermann, and you will arrive at We Are Kindred Resort 19.
Dark florals, one of my favourite prints, were sparse on the runway, but my gosh did they make an impact! The daintiness of the floral prints on the garments shows maturity in the brand; Kindred knows their customer so well!
Suede tie-up ankle boots in pinks, hair & neck scarves, and custom made wide brimmed hats gave a country-chic feel to the runway, while silhouettes and shapes were completely contemporary, adding depth to the garments.
Rose pinks, mint & teal, as well as soft blues and peaches were the pastel colour palette of choice, and the patchwork flowing slips and tie-top dresses harkened back to a Great Gatsby-eqsue era of ultra femininity.
Asymmetical hemming and cuts were a new feature for the brand on the runway this year, adding extra edge to a normally very soft and floaty runway. Customer Chelsea De Luce jewellery also added a bespoke element to the overall styling, with some models whimsically wandering the runway with bunches of flowers in their hands.
The buttery yellow that I fell in love with last season made a return (and looks insanely stunning on Akiima) and I also adore this new, almost muted electric blue colour, which wowed the entire runway.
Congratulations to We Are Kindred on a stunning show! Xox
