MBFWA: Anna Quan Resort 19
Anna Quan's runway offering for 2018, entitled 'Holiday', was a clear journey from her previous showings. Extended cuffs, back-ties & shirts nodding towards menswear were back in brilliant reds & teals.
Stripes, trousers, v'neck dipping cuts and flat sandals added a rustic, french countryside charm to 'Holiday', with my of the looks seemingly styled with that in mind.
Dresses were relaxed, and forms were loose on the models walking the runway, giving relaxed, far away vibes. Easy 'barely there' makeup, as well as minimal jewellery drew focus to the simplicity of the clothing, juxtaposed against the depth of structure - something that Anna does very, very well.
Again this season, Anna stuck to her primary colour palette of black, white & red, but, surprisingly, teal managed to sneak it's way into the mix for 2019! I am honestly seeing this absolutely everywhere right now, and am falling more & more in love each time. It's just the right mix of mermaid and money-maker.
'Holiday', is a representation of Anna's forte's; it's all the things she does incredibly well within design, rolled in to one showcase. This was a highly successful showing, and I look forward to watching Anna's growth into next season, as she has certainly mastered the craft of the extended sleeve by now!
