In Print
Summer always brings out a much lighter and brighter side of my wardrobe, even for work! Prints are always a fresh and simple way to spice up your wardrobe regulars, especially when your wardrobe is like mine, and features lots of anchoring garments.
This first look I decided to showcase clashing prints. There is something a bit kooky and artsy about rocking clashing prints, and really there are no rules when it comes to which prints to choose! Here, I have opted for my The Fifth Label strapless with this gorgeous soft floral, and anchored it with this predominantly black Bec & Bridge striped skirt - pairing dark & light prints creates a natural gradient for the eyes! I have also thrown in my cute Colette Hayman mini backpack to keep the look a bit youthful & fun!
This second look shows how I wear a bold yellow floral print. I have paired this Macy'a dress, with a beige/fawn coat from Oxford, and cute 'pageboy' style shoes from Tony Bianco. I love the flats cause they give the outfit some personality, and to brighten the whole thing, I threw it my bold af red faux snakeskin thrifted bag. I love that opting for this light coat tones down the dress enough to pair with the bag, and this is an idea you can replicate with any cream, desaturated or pastel colour.
In this final look I kept it really easy, and threw on this Country Road dress which features a light leopard print pattern. I paired the dress with my Furla bag, which is a very similar tone of maroon, and my Oxford 'Claudia' heels, which have a charming fringed design on the front. Pairing accessories of the same block colour as your outfit is the simplest way to dress up a printed look and make it seem more 'uniform' and out together.
I hope you're inspired to throw some prints on and make the most of Summer while it lasts! Xoxox
