Hailwood: NZFW
Remaining true to the brand's aesthetic, an absolutely gorgeous & sophisticated runway was presented by Hailwood at this year's Fashion Week. The Graduate Choir (all of whom were donned in Hailwood sequinned gowns & suits), accompanied by live pianist, provided an epic soundtrack for the cinematic runway. Focusing on A/W suitable cocktail attire, and using fabrics of luscious velvets & sequined gold, Hailwood effectively glamourised your classic silhouettes. Bomber jackets, animal print & white plaid striping casualised the range, and added a sense of toughness to the chic collection.
A mix of pencil skirts, slouchy knits, tailored evening dresses & cigarette pants showcased designer Adrian Hailwood's versatility and diverse creative flair, while the effortless runway styling tied each garment together. Neck ties made an appearance on the NZFW runway again, as did minimal jewellery & clean make up (tapped as huge A/W trends). The Hailwood runway was a feast for both the eyes & ears, and I was enraptured with the entire collection, especially the selection of evening gowns (fingers crossed I have an event coming up soon!) xx
