Breathing In 2016
I found myself by the water to begin the new year, silently setting myself a short list of personal goals for achievement during 2016.The atmosphere of solitude & large watery expanses always brings me clarity of mind, aligning my direction and putting my goals in focus. This year, I hope to grow creatively and personally by sticking to the 3 following kesolutions (kind-of resolutions).
1. Get More Sleep. I feel as though this is a very obvious change to make to one's life, but honestly, I do not get enough sleep. At current, I probably operate on about 5-6 hours sleep per evening (on an average), and sometimes I find it extremely difficult to wind down after work or my daily activities. I plan to focus more on breathing and relaxation techniques at the end of my day to assist with this. My goal is to aim for at least 7 hours sleep per night, ideally from 11pm until 6am (here's hoping!), ensuring I feel more energised & positive, and have more time to live my life.
2. Take More Photographs. I have fallen more deeply in love with photography then I ever could have imagined. What started out as a purely nature-snapping hobby, has turned into a passion that I think about constantly. I am forever seeking inspiration through media, sound, nature and, of course, the other talented creatives whose work I follow, and I believe that this year is going to be a defining year for my personal creative style. With projects already in the works, I can't wait to collaborate with more models/brands and creatives for Modesto to create visual imagery that both tells a story and also reveals a piece of myself. My goal this year, is to show you all a bit more of who I am through my photo-stories.
3. See More Of My Country. This year I vow to myself to experience much more of Australia than just the East Coast areas I am familiar with! I mean, we are the sixth largest country in the world by total area - surely there has to be some amazing sights just waiting to be discovered out there. I have already began working towards this goal through planning a week long road trip through Tasmania during June - cannot. freaking. wait. I am also desperate to travel to Darwin & Perth at some stage throughout 2016 to experience a more outback, desert-ish feeling than the laid-back Queensland coastal lifestyle I am accustomed to. Bring on the homeland experiences!
Let's dive together headfirst into 2016 and make it a year to remember! xx
