Fashion In The Mud - Styles of Splendour In The Grass 15
And so with the setting of the sun & the deep mud encrustation of my gumboots, Splendour in the Grass is over for another year. It was a blur of sweet sounds, delightful craftworks, scrumptious food & snappy style, and I bought along my trusty D3200 to capture some of my favourite festival trends on the day. I also just had to include some landscape shots to demonstrate the level of mud we were dealing with, hope you get a good laugh as we did. xx
Overalls are an absolute festival must, and I am really digging this laid back take on the style. The beachy waves in her hair & circle sunglasses really emphasise the festive look of the outfit - nailed it!
Anna & I mucking around pre-festival Day 2. Anna is wearing Liberated Heart
We were lucky enough to have a warm, sunny day - but (as it was raining the whole previous week) the mud situation was next level!
Couples who dress together, stay together! A more modest female take on the denim overall look, and absolutely adored the matching stripes with boyfie! Circle sunglasses were making a thorough appearance throughout the day as well.
Overalls - but pink & checkered! I just thought this was such a simple but cutsie look, perfect for the modest lady who wants to rock a chilled festival look. This picture also reminds me to mention the amazing selection of food on offer at the event, everything from Indian to Italian, and gluten-free and vegan options to boot! - you go Splendour!
Coolest festival gumboots ever! Had to snap this beautiful pixie who was absolutely nailing this boholuxe look (love the additionsof the watch, reflective tattoo & bindi). The purple boots are a bold contrast to the beige/earthy tones of the rest of the outfit, and it really works!
All that denim! The details of this outfit make it a top choice simple but classic dressing - note the cuffed sleeves, silver clasped belt and frayed look crop. I really rate this look highly not only for festivals, but any relaxed day outdoors.
Chanelling the 90's with those amazing layered chokers, but keeping the look fresh with a bright, sheer boho sleeve crop that really works with this lovely ladies hair. Trend alert on the silver clasped belt (identical to the image above) and it seems that circle sunglasses are still holding their place as the number one contender of festival-must have items!
RIP to that beautiful white lace skirt! This photo epitomises how muddy the day really was - anything floor length was a wreck (but that's all part of the fun!) Ticks all around for the peacock feather print & colour of the dress, long skirt & crop combination, long flowing hair (my favourite at festivals!) and accessories choices! This picture makes me want to teleport back to the day, mud & all!
These boots were made for fawning over! As was that faux fur cheetah print jacket (and this whole look really) which is being rocked by this absolute beauty. Love the clashing prints combining from the shirt & jacket, which are harmonised by the warm caramel tone of the fringed bag - yet another festival staple!
This is a festival statement necklace done the right way! Normally I would never be partial to a large piece of jewellery like this at an event, but I just thought this look was particularly polished as a result, so had to include it on my list. Denim dress - check, amazing suede coat - check, incredible heart shaped soft purple sunglasses - check! Oh, and the fringed mini bag definitely makes the festival must-have list!
Just a fantastic two-piece set that I thought was incredible and had to snap on the go! This was a more unique look of the festival, and I loved the styling of the plastic-look backpack and soft brimmed beret. Muddy bums, on the other hand, were not such a unique sight on the day!
Clashing prints, a metallic mini-wallet & purple hair... need I say more?
It's the freaking Amish...need I say more?
Angels, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to nail festival style in 3 different ways and look totally rad whilst doing so. Do you accept Angels: Yeah der.
Before our boots were muddy...
Saving the best til last! Those headpieces are just too good, and I need those incredible glasses! Love the extensive fringing and printed pants in this image - killed it!
